Dedicated to sound recording in the field
Balancedsound is a home for sound recordings made in the field. It complements
the railway sound recordings presented in
railwaysounds.co.uk but doesn't overlap
with them.
The recordings will be a mix of subjects, connected only by my range of interests.
They will be extended and expanded as new subjects present themselves.
Latest latest additions (March 2011):
Le Mans 24 Hour Race, 2000
The recordings can be played from the browser window or downloaded.
The best listening is with headphones, but be careful not to damage your hearing.

Special thanks to

All recordings on this site were made by the site owner.
Recordings have been encoded in mp3 format at bit rates up to 160kBytes/sec
and shortened to make them quicker to stream/download. Lower bit rates don't
give a good result. File sizes can be more than 5MBytes, but even so the
quality has suffered a bit in the process. That's life.
Video clips are .wmv files, playable on Windows Media Player. Picture size is
small, to keep file size reasonable.
If you have a sound plug-in installed (eg Quicktime), Right click,
then 'Open' to play a file.
You may be prompted by your browser to 'Allow Active X content'.
To download the sound files, right click,
then 'Save Target As'.
